Mark Kapral - Assistant Band Director, Percussion Director - kapral@fultonschools.org

 

Mr. Mark Kapral, a native of Binghamton, New York,  has lived in the Atlanta area for ten years. Mr. Kapral is currently the Assistant Director of Bands at Milton High School and previous to his appointment he taught for two years as Assistant Band Director at Northwestern Middle School, as well as, coordinator for the percussion program at Milton High School. He is a recent graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. While attending GSU, Mr. Kapral was a member of several ensembles including the symphonic wind ensemble, percussion ensemble, and the Southern Pride marching band. He was also the instructor and arranger for the Southern Pride Drumline and Indoor Drumline in 2003 and 2004.

 

In addition to GSU, Mr. Kapral was a member of Atlanta Quest Independent Indoor Drumline in 2004 and was on staff with the organization in 2005. He played percussion for the Hilton Head Orchestra in the spring of 2004 and the Atlanta Wind Symphony in 2005. Mr. Kapral has also worked as a percussion instructor for South Effingham High School, Wayne County High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, and served on the summer band staff for Milton High School in 2003 and 2004.

 

Mr. Kapral’s professional affiliations include the Georgia Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Percussive Arts Society, and the National Band Association.



Bronwyn Thomas - Instructor - thomasbr@fultonschools.org

Ms. Bronwyn Thomas grew up in the midwest, but has lived in Georgia for the past eight years. She is currently teaching elementary general music at Hillside Elementary School in Roswell, GA and Barnwell Elementary School in Alpharetta, GA. Aside from this, Ms. Thomas is the front ensemble technician for her alma mater, Milton High School. She has also taught numerous front ensembles in Georgia and Alabama.

Ms. Thomas is a recent graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. While attending Auburn, she was a member of many ensembles including the Auburn Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, and basketball Pep Band.

Ms. Thomas' professional affiliations include the Georgia Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Sigma Alpha Iota, and the Percussive Arts Society.


Dinesh Dhungana - Instructor - dinesh_dhungana@ptct.com

Dinesh joined the Milton percussion staff during the fall of 2007. He is a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University. While attending Georgia Southern Dinesh marched snare drum for the "Southern Pride" drumline as well as the indoor drumline. In the fall of 2004 Dinesh served as battery tech for the Georgia Southern drumline and indoor drumline. In the summers of 2002 and 2003 he marched snare drum for the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. Dinesh brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the Milton drumline and we are very glad to have him on board.


Thomas Fleming - Instructor -

Tom joined the Milton percussion staff during the fall of 2007. He is a graduate of Milton High School and played cymbals and was a member of the front ensemble. Tom also marched cymbals for Georgia Southern University in the fall of 2006.


Alan Sears - Private Lesson Teacher, Instructor - alansears@atlantaquest.net

Alan Sears has been teaching private lessons at Milton for eight years. He currently teaches percussion at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA and is the program coordinator and arranger for Atlanta Quest Independent Indoor Drumline. In addition to teaching private lessons at Milton Mr. Sears will join the indoor drumline staff during the 2008 season as a consultant and ensemble instructor.
